About

What’s the purpose of this site?

This site is an online journal where I write about how I am personally using different technology services and platforms, as well as comment on technology news and trends.

When I first launched the site on October 12, 2008, the focus was more on developing a place to educate my readers on how to use technology (to reach back and see what I was thinking then, check out my inaugural post).  That said, I had a couple stumbles and successes along the way, and decided the model of keeping an online journal was most appropriate for me.

So can you tell me a little more about yourself?

You can check out my professional biography here, however I have been involved in one way or another with technology since I was a kid.  I’ve played around, or worked in a professional capacity, with Macs, Windows, and Unix/Linux; .NET, LAMP, and Java; and web-based and client software.  The bottom line is I love working with and using technology.

I love everything Apple.  I grew up on an Apple II and 512k Mac, and after a temporary love affair with Windows 3.1 and XP, I returned full force to Apple a couple of years ago.  My current platforms of choice are a 24″ iMac, a 13″ MacBook, and a 32GB iPhone 3GS.  The latest and most recent (non-Apple) gadget that I’ve fallen in love with is Amazon’s Kindle 2.

How do I contact you?
